How Much Does a Handyman Cost in South Florida? Honest Numbers
Tired of hearing "it depends" with no numbers attached? Here's exactly how it works with me — no mystery.
My rates (simple)
- $80 — first hour (that's also the minimum charge)
- $60 — every hour after that
That's it. No "let me check with the office," no surprise fees at the door.
Why is there a minimum?
Because even a "10-minute job" isn't 10 minutes for me: drive to you, unload tools, actually fix it right, clean up, drive to the next one. The $80 minimum keeps small jobs worth doing well — instead of rushed.
What can change the price
- Parts and materials (a $15 part is a $15 part — I don't mark them up with fairy dust)
- Jobs that genuinely need two people or a second trip
- The "while you're here, can you also…" list — happy to do it, it just adds time
DIY or call? Quick math
If you've already bought the wrong anchors twice and the shelf is still crooked — the $80 visit was cheaper three trips ago. 😄
Want an exact price before I come?
Send me a photo of the problem. I'll tell you what it'll cost and when I can be there. Most small jobs in Broward County I can price from a photo alone.
